Ever wish you could have a full-time receptionist answering calls and taking messages when you’re busy? You’d never miss a call again.
The downfall of course is having a full-time receptionist is cost prohibitive for most businesses. Even though missed phone calls are one of the biggest reasons for lost business today.
Thanks to advances in telephony technology, we are able to offer an extremely flexible telephone answering service in Toronto for a fraction the cost of having a full-time receptionist in your office.
Your customers won’t know the difference whether your virtual receptionist is in your office or offsite at our answering service location.
Here’s How it works
When you sign up for the Smiledog Toronto telephone answering service, we’ll provide you with a unique phone number. We refer to this as your DID (direct inward dialing number).
Your DID is completely unique to your business and will be a local Toronto phone number. If required we can also provide a toll-free number. All of the phone calls you wish SmileDog to answer will be routed through this local phone number.
Setting Up Your Smiledog Number
There are two options when sending your calls to our telephone answering service in Toronto, CA.
#1 – Display your local Smiledog phone number everywhere you currently have your old phone number displayed.
#2 – Simply forward your current phone number to your local Smiledog virtual reception number.
We suggest you do the second option at first. It’s faster and you don’t need to change any of your current printed materials, website, business cards etc.
What Happens When Someone Calls
Because your Smiledog number is unique to only your business our system knows that a call coming in to that number is someone calling your company.
Similar to how call display works our internal answering service system brings up the details of your company on our staff’s screen. They’re able to answer your calls and follow instructions as displayed on their screen.
The details displayed include:
- The greeting you want us to read when answering your calls
- Directions on whether to live transfer a call, take a message or even book an appointment
- Details on how to handle calls for specific staff members (e.g. live transfer calls to Steve but take a message for Susan)
This video below is an example screen our virtual reception staff would see when answering a call.
Your callers will never realize they’re speaking with a virtual receptionist. The transition is so seamless callers will believe the person answering the phone is sitting right in your office.
